On August 18, 2024, BWMTC took part in Muruk Medagang #2, a monthly event organized by the Abiwara community. This event, held in Pasut, Banjar Taman, Desa Munduk, Buleleng-Bali, is designed to nurture entrepreneurial spirit among the youth and local residents. The initiative follows previous activities like cooking workshops and crafting sessions, aiming to develop household industries using local resources.
Activities:
- Community Market: Featuring food products prepared by community members and local residents, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity.
- Children’s Corner: Offering activities such as coloring and access to a small library, creating a fun and educational space for the younger attendees.
- Environmental Discussion: Focusing on waste management and raising awareness about the impact of roadside litter, encouraging participants to adopt more environmentally friendly practices.
BWMTC played a significant role by providing educational materials on waste management, including the “Selamat Menghijaukan Indonesia” learning book, available at BWMTC Educational Programs. Additionally, BWMTC facilitated the provision of four trash bins to help attendees practice waste separation on-site, reinforcing the importance of proper waste management.
The event was further enriched by the presence of the BRASTI community and the MMP Greenteam from Munduk Moding Plantation, who shared their experiences and practices in waste separation within their communities and at the MMP Nature Resort. Their participation added valuable insights and inspired collaboration among all involved.
The ongoing collaboration between BWMTC, Abiwara, BRASTI, and other local organizations is expected to continue, fostering sustainable waste management education and practices in the community.
We look forward to seeing you at Muruk Medagang #3, where we’ll continue building on these efforts!
