On Friday, August 9, 2024, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held at TPS3R Pemogan. Attendees included Chris Budiharsa and Lisa Ismiandewi from BWMTC, Wayan Mudana (Head of TPS3R Pemogan), and the TPS3R operational team.
Discussion Points:
- Waste from residents is still mixed despite previous socialization efforts on waste separation.
- Organic waste is processed into compost, and non-organic waste is sold to recyclers. Residual waste is collected in bins provided by DLHK, but transportation to landfills often faces delays, leading to waste buildup.
- TPS3R has had many visits for learning waste management, but these visits are not consistently recorded. A visitor logbook will be introduced to integrate TPS3R activities with BWMTC’s efforts.
- The waste-transporting motorcycle (Moci) provided by Rotary is in regular use, but other machines are not fully utilized, and there is no usage logbook.
- Upcoming plans include inviting external parties (students, PKK members, the general public) to visit TPS3R and learn about waste separation. The next event is scheduled for August 23, 2024, where organic and plastic shredders will be used. TPS3R staff will assist with machine operation, and materials for practice will be prepared at least three days in advance.
